New video technology, zero rules. Livinus and Jeep van de Bundt got straight to work. 📼

Livinus built his own synthesisers to paint with light, while Jeep created the soundtracks. Together, they experimented with cameras, television screens and modulators, turning electronic signals into moving images long before video art had found its rulebook.

Video art was barely a thing. Livinus and Jeep didn’t let that stop them.

Time for the next wave of Night Academy artists.

Four artists and collectives made the cut for the 2026 Night Academy for Audiovisual Culture at Nxt Museum.

Selected from this year’s open call by Anna Bogomolova and lead mentor Bogomir Doringer, FCKLY, STATE OFFF, Dmytro Tentiuk and Dimme & D**g work across sound, light, 3D animation, performance and spatial design.

They will use nightlife as a testing ground for new audiovisual worlds.

Expect audiovisual worlds shaped by music, where visuals move with sound and light transforms the space around the crowd.

On 20 June, Nxt Museum hosted its own stage at Echo’s of Amsterdam in Sloterpark, bringing Duration by Boris Acket beyond the walls of the museum.

For one day, the installation left the black box and became the setting for a line-up curated by Alessandro Boni.

Across ten hours, DJ Westfa, Kléo, Suze Ijó, Fafi Abdel Nour, Octo Octa and Jen Cardini moved from warm afternoon house to live electronics and darker sounds after sunset.

A museum installation, rebuilt for the dancefloor.

Last week, Nxt Museum welcomed Tales of Two by YONK.

Children, families and curious visitors pulled the strings, shaping the characters’ movements while creating the story together.

Created by The Hague-based 3D animation studio YONK, founded by artists Niels van der Donk and Victoria Young, Tales of Two reimagines puppetry through VR sculpting and interactive animation. The result is playful, hands-on and made to be discovered together.

Step inside the 4DSOUND spatial sound room and the idea of listening starts to shift.

Origin turns sound into something spatial and physical. It moves around you, above you and through you.

December slowdown, reimagined.

As a coping mechanism for December fatigue, we were joined by S.Salter ( .salter ) for a live ambient piano performance inside Still Processing.

Nested within Boris Acket’s ‘Duration’, a highly technical artwork that is part of the ongoing exhibition ‘Still Processing’.

S.Salter’s music layers a plethora of genres, ranging from neoclassical, experimental electronic and drone. Accompanied by visuals of topographic fragments that in real-time gently reflect upon the played act, the space expanded with a temporal state of dreamy wellness 🏖

In ’s ‘ALL-TOGETHER-NOW’, five luminous rings float in the space, each moving through its own cycle before briefly aligning in moments of sublime synchronicity. The movement dissolves spatial boundaries, and the shifting tones—from amber to pure white—create fleeting flashes reminiscent of the spectrum of light. From certain angles, the rings seem like black holes or portals into the Earth’s core.

Gathering around the rings, the orbits feel trance-like; approach closely, and it seems you could almost disappear.
