Event recap 👾

December slowdown, reimagined.

As a coping mechanism for December fatigue, we were joined by S.Salter ( .salter ) for a live ambient piano performance inside Still Processing.

Nested within Boris Acket’s ‘Duration’, a highly technical artwork that is part of the ongoing exhibition ‘Still Processing’.

S.Salter’s music layers a plethora of genres, ranging from neoclassical, experimental electronic and drone. Accompanied by visuals of topographic fragments that in real-time gently reflect upon the played act, the space expanded with a temporal state of dreamy wellness 🏖

Missed it?
Still Processing is now open at Nxt Museum.

S.Salter is an artist duo of Samuel Ruddick and Jeremia Reichen.

In ’s ‘ALL-TOGETHER-NOW’, five luminous rings float in the space, each moving through its own cycle before briefly aligning in moments of sublime synchronicity. The movement dissolves spatial boundaries, and the shifting tones—from amber to pure white—create fleeting flashes reminiscent of the spectrum of light. From certain angles, the rings seem like black holes or portals into the Earth’s core.

Gathering around the rings, the orbits feel trance-like; approach closely, and it seems you could almost disappear.

‘ALL-TOGETHER-NOW’ is on show at Nxt Museum as part of our current exhibition ‘Still Processing’, curated by .

Using a blend of intricate piano compositions, poised production elements, and carefully placed field recordings, S. Salter (.salter) tells the listener a story of nostalgia. A project by Amsterdam-based British artist Samuel Ruddick and Berlin-based Swiss artist Jeremia Reichen, the tracks evoke a longing for ‘home’ whilst in the midst of solitude and a search for the familiar. 🎹

In 2023, they released their debut album ‘Juun’ on acclaimed Dutch label Stmpd Rcrds (), with multiple tracks receiving support from BBC Radio (). Compositions for the 2023 album ‘Juun’ are heavily influenced by Samuel’s native South West of England, and are completed by Jeremia’s distinct sound design and innovative production techniques. Off the back of this, they were featured on Leiter Verlag / Nils Frahm’s ‘Piano Day’ album, alongside the likes of Yann Tiersen and James Heather.

‘A Walk With S. Salter’, a large-scale AV show in collaboration with visual artists Sam McCormick () and Seb Price () saw sold-out shows in Amsterdam, Berlin and Zurich, with the aftermovies being viewed by hundreds of thousands more online.

On December 17, S. Salter will play a live ambient piano concert at Nxt Museum, in a performance including old releases and new music, further broadening their sound.

Still on show: ‘Duration’ by Boris Acket (.acket ) ⚡️

‘Duration’ is a light and sound installation that invites you into a space where time breathes.

A custom built echo system distributes sonic pulses and shifting light across the room. The rhythms resemble natural sounds like dripping water which creates an atmosphere somewhere between a digital storm and an artificial rainforest. What do you see and hear?

The artwork is part of our current exhibition, ‘Still Processing’, curated by Bogomir Doringer ( ).
