Happy Birthday Gaia! 💙
Today we celebrate Gaia De Megni (Santa Margherita Ligure, 1993), a visual artist living and working between Rome and Milan. Her practice moves across sculpture, video, installation and performance, investigating the potential of the image and the ways in which Western visual culture constructs identities, roles and narratives.
Drawing from cinema, theatre and digital archives, De Megni fragments and reconfigures familiar symbols — from costumes and gestures to military imagery and cinematic archetypes — creating spaces where representation, reality and fiction remain deliberately unstable. Her work questions the authority of images and narratives, leaving room for ambiguity and for the viewer’s own interpretation.
On 13 September 2026, Société Interludio will open La Scia, Gaia De Megni’s solo exhibition, curated by Vincenzo Estremo vincenzo estremo
