On her feast day, we honor Saint Faustina Kowalska — the Apostle of Divine Mercy and a saint whose message continues to bring hope, trust, and consolation to the world.

By a meaningful coincidence, we are currently hand-carving this statue of Saint Faustina in our workshop. Even at this stage, her figure is already beginning to emerge from the wood with quiet strength and devotion.

Her life reminds us of one simple but powerful prayer: Jesus, I trust in You.

This work in progress is being carved entirely by hand, step by step, with patience, care, and respect for the sacred image.

Genuine gold leaf, applied by hand

At this stage, the individual sheets of gold leaf are still clearly visible.

Each delicate leaf is placed by hand, one next to the other, with patience and precision. Only after further work — brushing, refining, and finishing — do the separate pieces come together and become one continuous golden surface.

This is the beauty of traditional gilding: many fragile leaves, applied step by step, slowly becoming a unified ornament of light, depth, and lasting brilliance.

Saint Thérèse of Lisieux

On October 1, the Church celebrates Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, patroness of missionaries and of France.

Known as the Little Flower, she reminds us that holiness is not always found in great visible deeds, but often in small acts of love, humility, and trust offered to God.

In 1997, Pope St. John Paul II proclaimed her a Doctor of the Church — only the third woman to receive this honor, after St. Catherine of Siena and St. Teresa of Avila.

This hand-carved statue captures a tender moment of devotion: Saint Thérèse looking toward the Child Jesus, holding her roses, a symbol of love, prayer, and grace.
