La chiesa dei Santi Jacopo e Filippo è una piccola chiesa ma ricca di storia e di arte, legata anche ai nomi delle due personalità importanti di Certaldo: Giovanni Boccaccio e Beata Giulia, che qui furono sepolti ⛪️
Nata tra le fine del XII e inizio del XIII secolo, di poco posteriore a quella dei Santi Tommaso e Prospero (ora sconsacrata) erano entrambe dipendenti dalla Pieve di San Lazzaro a Lucardo di patronato della famiglia Gianfigliazzi. Nel XV secolo passa all’Ordine Agostiniano, come anche il Convento ora Museo di Arte Sacra 🖼
Nel tempo ha subito vari rimaneggiamenti, ma dagli anni 1960s è tornata ad avere il suo aspetto originale romanico 🧱

The Church of Sants Jacopo e Filippo is a small church rich in history and art, also linked to the names of two important figures from Certaldo: Giovanni Boccaccio and Blessed Giulia, who were buried here ⛪️
Built between the late 12th and early 13th centuries, shortly after the Church of Saints Thomas and Prospero (now deconsecrated), both were dependent on the Parish Church of San Lazzaro a Lucardo, under the patronage of the Gianfigliazzi family. In the 15th century, it passed to the Augustinian Order, as did the Convent, now Museum of Sacred Art 🖼
Over time, it has undergone various renovations, but since the 1960s, it has returned to its original Romanesque appearance.
