A confidential Bihar Government report dated 26 June 1946 records the tour of INA ex-officers General Shah Nawaz Khan and Col. Mahboob Ahmad in Bihar.

The report notes that they were addressing public meetings and were making “violent speeches” and, in one speech, claimed that the INA was defeated only because of the atomic bomb. The officials considered this and several other statements exaggerated and difficult for the audience to believe.
