Far Wells Mill Valley | 2025 | NFN Kalyan
Oil on canvas | 42” × 59”

Based directly on a painting by Frank Dicksee, Far Wells Mill Valley reimagines a classical romantic scene through NFN Kalyan’s charged visual language. Myth, memory, and destruction collide as luminous figures emerge from darkness, carrying both tenderness and chaos within the same frame.

A meeting of two distinct yet deeply resonant artistic worlds.
NFN Kalyan explores the intersections of social justice, politics, religion, and the human condition through a practice shaped by layered cultural experiences between India and the United States.

Jayesh Sachdev builds immersive visual universes where surrealism, mythology, pop culture, and contemporary symbolism dissolve into one another.

HE WHO PERMEATES brings these two practices into dialogue, revealing a shared impulse to question, transcend, and reimagine familiar frameworks. Curated by Mihir Thakkar.

Joining us from LA, artist NFN Kalyan speaks about his work ‘Pandora’ - a collision of Indian mythology and anime culture, where ancient archetypes meet hyper-contemporary visual language.

Rendered in oil on canvas, the work moves between chaos and fantasy, layering mythological figures, surreal symbolism, and vibrant pop imagery to reflect the fragmented reality of modern life.

NFN Kalyan is a multidisciplinary conceptual artist whose thought-provoking practice explores themes of social justice, politics, religion, and the human condition. Born in upstate New York to a mathematician father from India and a philosopher mother, Kalyan’s upbringing between Wisconsin and India shaped his layered cultural perspective.

Jayesh Sachdev is a multi-hyphenated artist whose creativity transcends traditional art-making into the realm of multidimensional art.

The visual excess in his works is not a distraction from meaning; it 𝒊𝒔 the meaning, a mirror held up to a world that worships image and rarely pauses to ask why.
