【 #保良點滴：風雨中的賣花籌款】
每支小旗貼，承載著一段跨越半世紀的溫暖回憶。💞
下星期三（7月22日）是保良局賣旗日，而這項善舉的前身，其實是老一輩香港人記憶中的「賣花籌款」。趁著賣旗日前夕，我們一同回顧1953年那場無懼風雨、暖人心扉的賣花點滴。⏳
1953年9月26日，超過3,000名學生自清晨起便前往港九各區，為保良局賣花籌款。他們一直努力至下午6時，才陸續返回銅鑼灣總局，將盛載善款的錢箱交予職員點算。
儘管當日風雨交加🌧️，但惡劣天氣無阻學生們賣花籌款的熱誠，最終為保良局籌得逾12萬元善款，成績非常可觀。
除了學生積極投入慈善活動，當屆總理亦盡心盡力支援。當日上午6時至下午5時，總理親自駕車穿梭港九各區巡視，為學生補給花朵，並安排接送有需要或已將花朵售罄的學生返回總局；午間更準備茶點招待學生。
當年活動亦設有學校組及個人組籌款比賽，籌款成績最優異的100名學生，更可獲總理致送獎品，以表嘉許。🏆
這份關懷社群、匯聚善緣的精神，一直傳承至今。下星期三，如你在街上遇見保良局的賣旗義工，歡迎踴躍支持。所籌得的善款將全數用於保良局多元化社會服務，持續為弱勢社群提供適切支援。💞

【 : Flower Day Fundraising Through the Storm】
Each little flag sticker carries a warm memory spanning more than half a century. 💞
Next Wednesday (July 22) is Po Leung K*k Flag Day. Before the familiar flag stickers of today, this act of kindness took the form of Flower Day—a cherished memory for many from older generations of Hong Kong. With Flag Day just around the corner, let us look back on a heartwarming fundraising effort from 1953, when students braved the wind and rain for our cause. ⏳
On September 26, 1953, more than 3,000 students set out at daybreak for districts across Hong Kong Island and Kowloon to participate in Flower Day for Po Leung K*k. They worked tirelessly until 6:00 pm, before gradually returning to the Causeway Bay headquarters to hand their donation boxes to staff for counting.
Despite the stormy weather 🌧️, the students’ dedication to the fundraising remained undiminished. In the end, they raised more than HK$120,000 for Po Leung K*k—an impressive achievement.
The students were not alone in their charitable efforts. The Directors of the time also offered wholehearted support. From 6:00 am to 5:00 pm, they personally drove across Hong Kong Island and Kowloon to visit the students, replenish their paper flowers, and arrange transport back to the K*k Headquarters for those in need or those who had sold all their flowers. Refreshments were also prepared for the students at lunchtime.
The event also featured fundraising competitions in both school and individual categories. The 100 students with the best fundraising results received prizes presented by the Directors in recognition of their efforts. 🏆
This spirit of caring for the community and converging benevolence has been passed down to the present day. Next Wednesday, if you see Po Leung K*k flag-selling volunteers on the streets, we warmly invite you to show your support. All funds raised will be used for Po Leung K*k’s diverse social services, providing continued and meaningful support for people in need. 💞
