The Summer Holidays are finally over... which means it's time for us to announce our Halloween half-term events! 🙌

We've got some fantastic activities for your little ones (and you too!) this year - which ones are you looking forward to the most? 🎃

As always, our events are completely FREE, with no booking needed - just drop by and enjoy the fun!

Thank you to everyone who came to our Roman event yesterday! ⚔

We had a great time with The Vicus, who also came and discovered our Roman artefacts in the museum... much to the confusion of some of the Roman soldiers!

With that, our Summer Holiday events are now at a close... but that doesn't mean the fun has to end!

The museum is open every Mon-Sat from 10am-4pm, and we've already been teasing some of our Halloween events - come and pick up a flyer from the museum and see what's going on!

The Romans are coming! Join us and The Vicus this Friday, August 28th between 11am and 3pm, for a FREE family friendly day of living history. Come along to meet the Romans, learn about what life was like 2000 years ago and explore the museum galleries to discover local Roman archaeological finds!

We had an absolute blast at our Pirate & Highwaymen event yesterday - we don't think anyone else has been happier to be invaded by criminals! 🏴‍☠️⚔

Many thanks to the Select Society for helping us with this event, and thank you to everyone who turned up to have fun, whether that was learning all about the famous pirate Blackbeard, or learning how to wield a cutlass!

Our next FREE Summer Holiday event will be on Friday 28th August, where we will be joined by Roman Gladiators from The Vicus - don't miss out! 😮

Did you know today is World Photography Day? 🎥📸

It's no coincidence either - it was on this day in 1839 when the French Government purchased the patent for the Daguerreotype, which was the very first practical photographic process. As an act of goodwill, they then shared the patent with the rest of the world, allowing it to be freely used by the public.

To celebrate, Helen and Erin have had a bit of fun taking some artistic photos around the site - our personal favourite is the horse on our miniature railway!🐎😂

Pirates and Highwaymen are taking over Wellingborough Museum on the 19th August... and they're looking for new recruits!

🏴‍☠️ Hear the tale of Blackbeard the Pirate who sailed the high seas and learn from the very best;

☠️ Play ‘Let the Punishment fit the Crime’, and discover all about 18th century law and the terrible punishments for those considered criminals;

⚔ Join ‘Cutlass School’ and learn to fight like a pirate - they might even let you join their ranks!

Activities take place on the hour from 11am to 4pm. All activities are free of charge, with no booking needed - just turn up and enjoy the day!

Unfortunately due to health issues, the puppet show advertised previously will no longer be going ahead.
