🌟 This one's just a shout out, a fond farewell and an appreciation post for Lizzy Thomson who is moving on after almost three years with us 🥲

Lizzy became one of our first Young Producers - but her journey with Warrington Arts Festival and Culture Warrington didn't end there.

With more enthusiasm and energy than a Duracell Bunny, she impressed our team so much that she went on to be offered a role as Assistant Producer 👏

That allowed her to play an integral part in planning Warrington Arts Festival, lead on other projects such as Scratch Night and become an inspiring figure for other Young Producers.

The Young Producers scheme was set up to help young people get a foot in the door of creative industries while gaining practical hands-on experience of the skills needed - and in a way Lizzy came to symbolise the potential of that 🙌

It's Lizzy's last day in the office today but she's also working at Warrington Mela on Sunday so say hello if you see her 👋

That's her last project with us (for now) but we're under no doubt that she'll go on to great things! Thank you for everything, Lizzy.

Fun fact: Before becoming a Young Producer, Lizzy's first opportunity for Culture Warrington was dressing as a giant Lego character for an event at Warrington Museum! 😁

📸 It's World Photography Day - so we're throwing it back to 2025 with this stunning image from Warrington's own Robert Watson. It really is one of our absolute favourites.

Capturing a beautiful but fleeting moment, this graceful alien figure emerging from a UFO and making contact with the crowd below was the otherworldly finale to last year's Warrington Arts Festival 👽😍

They say a picture tells a thousand words - and Robert really does have a way of crystallising a whole experience... and all the surprise and emotion and joy that comes with that. Absolutely incredible.

A family favourite for three years running - should we make it four? 👀

It's always a pleasure transforming Queens Gardens into a hub of colourful community creativity and eclectic acts for Warrington Arts Festival 🎀🌻☀️

This year, highlights at Family Garden Party included The Way We Live in UK // 看我英該怎麼活 by Hong Kong performing artists Orange, Puika and Jamie, and the return of The Birdcage Stage with new show, Don’t Feed the Explorers!

HOW HAS IT BEEN ONE WEEK ALREADY?! 🤯

We can't believe it's been one week since we officially closed out Warrington Arts Festival with the incredible performance of Pigments by Cirk VOST at Bank Park!

Who joined us? 👀

Wow, what a month 👏🎉

We're still recovering and decompressing after eight days of Warrington Arts Festival 🙃

But - as well as the big celebrations that brought the community together - it was little candid moments like these and the sense of connection we had along the way that made it all worthwhile 🙌🥰

So this feels as good an opportunity as any to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who helped deliver the festival from our volunteers and Young Producers to the key planning team at Culture Warrington, and everyone in between. Do it all again next year?!

We're throwing it back to the weekend and our big Warrington Arts Festival finale at Bank Park - an aerial circus spectacular 🧗‍♀️🎪🤸

The weather was against us at times, but what an amazing performance contemporary French company CirkVOST presented to our community a staggering 15 metres in the air on Friday and Saturday 🤩

Moments like that make it all worth it - and did you know our festival represents only the second time 'Pigments' has appeared in the UK? 🙏

🗣️ Did you catch the show? We'd love to know what you thought...

We can’t believe it’s already been ONE WEEK since the Made By Me Film Festival! 🍿🎬

Now in its second year, the festival celebrates the creativity and talent of young filmmakers from Warrington and the surrounding areas.

A huge congratulations to all the Young Producers whose work was featured, and to everyone involved in making the event such a success!

Take a look at some of our favourite snaps from the event 🎞️
