This second generation family business has recently moved to a new purpose built studio to allow further development in picture and frame conservation....specialising in oversize items. Everett Fine Art have specialised in the restoration of oil paintings for over fifty years and undertaken an extraordinary variety and complexity of work including:-

One little word -Fills- takes time, skill and patience to get absolutely perfect. If it’s not super perfect when you finish the whole process it is this aspect that usually disappoints more than anything else.

There is no such thing as correct framing… you can correctly match a frame to the origin and date of the painting but it has always relied more heavily on fashion and personal choice. … as it has done so over the centuries.

Useful specialist conservation tools includes a hot table. These have a controllable heat and vacuum function and also offer a solution when using the more modern relining process involving beva adhesive which is an alternative method to the traditional glue paste method. I use it for pretreating distorted canvases and the occasional beva lining

Why 19th century engagings and lithographs appears which crisper and sharper….a chance discovery while trying to find a light, strong and durable paper to make portable small bibles. This new wonder paper , called India paper, wasn’t from India at all but China and Japan and derived from bamboo ….but it was traded through the East India company.
