This print was inspired by the tale of Arethusa, who is transformed into a glistening pool of water beneath the silvery willows of the forest 🩶🍃

✨ Happy New Year! ✨

It may be cliché, but one of my resolutions for 2024 is to post on here more and check in with you all. 🫶🏼 So, here I am! 😊

2023 was a big year because I started my MA, which has been challenging to balance alongside my job, but equally amazing! 😵‍💫🤩 I can’t wait to share some of it with you 🫶🏼

Seen here is a little snippet of one of my latest pieces, ‘Daphne’ ✨This work is part of a collection of prints, hand crafted for my latest module in the MA 🎓 I was exploring the ancient myths of Ovid’s ‘Metamorphoses’ with a modern twist 💚 and this I must say, this one is my favourites. 🍃

I will be sharing more of her sister prints soon, but for now I hope you get lost in her details 🥰

✨BIG ANNOUNCEMENT ✨

Hello lovelies - it’s been a while!🫶🏼

I’ve been very absent on here lately, however there’s a reason for my radio silence… I’ve been working hard on my application to study a masters in illustration 🎓 I’m over the moon to share that I will be starting at the end of May🎉 so not long until I get stuck in! 🎨🖌️

I’ll be sharing the journey with you all on here 🌸 so stay tuned for some exciting new work landing in the next few weeks 🤍

For now I hope you enjoy a snapshot of this commission I completed back in December 🍂🌼🐾

I spy a new artwork 👀✨🌲

It’s slowly getting more wintery here in the UK, but it’s still very mild considering it’s the middle of November!❄️ I feel like my work is definitely reflecting the changing of the seasons 🤔💫👩🏽‍🎨

I’m slowly working on this painting… it’s taken a while to plan but I’m very excited to see it sat next to the first painting in my ‘Forest’ collection 🤩

Some exciting news!!! ✨ The print of this painting will go live on my Etsy next weekend!! 🤩🤗

I’ve literally just sent the test strips off to the printers!!! Eeeek 🥳🍾

It always takes a while to create the print file; its doesn’t help that I find my time absolutely FLIES by 🕊 maybe it’s because I’m juggling doing this and another job 🙄🤨

But I like to make sure the print is a pretty perfect match to the original, although it’s never going to be bang on…I guess that’s the perfectionist in me! 😂🤍

Today I’ve moved my focus onto the next painting in this series…have a swipe to get a sneak peek 🤩 I can’t wait to see how they sit together 🌲🌳

Evening lovelies! 🤍

With all the love I’ve received from my latest painting, it’s inspired me to explore illustrating trees and landscapes far more 🍃🌲

I’m so excited to see how this body of work pans out 🙊 it’s already starting to take shape in ways I couldn’t have imagined before ✨

I’m in the process of editing my first ‘Forest’ artwork, so it will be available as a print very soon! 👀🤩🌳

Happy Friday! It's a bit dreary in the studio today as there's so much rain outside 🌧 Autumn is definitely here!🍂

However it was bright and sunny yesterday; I even managed to do some drawing on my walk which was just lovely and wholesome ✍🏻✨

I've finally finished the piece featured in this studio shot 🤩 I'm so happy with the outcome!👩🏼‍🎨 Watch this space for a process reel coming later today ☺️🎞

I was once asked what my biggest personal challenge was as an artist that I had to overcome... I instantly answered "my perfectionism."👌🏼✨

The amount of times I would scribble out a sketch after rubbing out certain elements time and time again, just because it wasn't quite how I'd imagined it in my head🤔💭 It wasn't only frustrating, but both damaging to the planet and incredibly wasteful of my time 🌍 ...just think of all that paper 📝😯

Therefore, with my conscience intact, I began illustrating different elements and motifs digitally which is definitely a lot faster ⏱ reducing waste and improving my time management 🎨👩🏼‍🎨🌏

It meant I could use my perfectionism to it's full potential with sustainability in mind 🍀🌲🌴🌳🫶🏼

It's finally Friday and I'm leaving the studio feeling like I've achieved quite a lot this week 🤍

Does anyone else find that some weeks they don't have much to show for their time, and then others you feel like you've done so much?! This is definitely one of the latter🤩

My new series of paintings are finally starting to take shape.💫 I spend so much time imagining and planning that when they come together it's so rewarding 💝Although I've started to see trees in my sleep....so I reckon it's definitely time for a rest!🌲😂
