It’s today!
This painting by Margaret Macdonald will be auctioned this evening at 7:30pm in the Splash Cafe.
We’ve had it on show in the gallery window for two or three weeks where it has been admired and talked about enthusiastically. We’ve had several enquiries about how to secure it, and the only way to secure it, and help keep the Outdoor Pool, is to bid.
Good luck and thank you in advance to the successful bidder.

While we were busy preparing for our upcoming exhibition, we had an unexpected delivery… and no, it’s not part of a new art installation! 🌀

This 4-inch diameter drainage pipe might have made quite the statement, but we think we’ll stick to our scheduled artwork for now. 😅

Who knows? Perhaps there’s an abstract sculpture hiding in here somewhere… 🤔

Look out for more updates on what’s actually coming to the gallery soon!

Mixed media by Colin Brown
Colin Brown is a contemporary Scottish artist from Stonehaven, renowned for his distinctive mixed-media works. His approach involves layering materials such as paint, collage, and found objects to create textured, dynamic surfaces. He draws inspiration from a variety of sources, including urban landscapes, architecture, and cultural symbols, incorporating fragments of text, photographs, and other ephemera to give his pieces a sense of history and narrative. His art has gained considerable attention both in the UK and internationally. His ability to fuse contemporary techniques with a strong sense of place and history makes him a unique figure in the Scottish art scene.

We were treated to a lovely surprise today! A beautiful gift of chocolates was delivered by a friend of the gallery. A sweet gesture that brightened our week! 🍫 🎁
I head off on holiday next week (it’s unusual, I know!) Morag will be keeping things going while I’m away. Please note the gallery will be closing at 4pm each evening. This is also the last week of our Beth Robertson Fiddes exhibition, so do pop in and say hello to Morag if you can!

Ceramic artist Gundra Nock has created a special series of bowls, designed to harmonize perfectly with Beth Robertson Fiddes’ color palette. Each bowl features beautiful mini landscapes on the exterior and a gorgeously glazed interior. These unique pieces range in size from 18cm to 38cm in diameter—perfect as statement art pieces. Be sure to see them in person during the exhibition!

"We're incredibly already halfway through Beth Robertson Fiddes' powerful exhibition! 🎨 It's been wonderful to see so many people captivated by her stunning work. If you haven't had a chance to visit yet, there's still time to experience her unique land and seascapes. https://www.eionstewartfineart.com/land-sea-sky

Beth Robertson Fiddes often paints on an epic scale, a few feet wide and high, but for our Land-Sea-sky solo exhibition of her latest collection of paintings, Beth has worked on four 30cm x 25cm fully rendered paintings, of which only one is still available, and four further small paintings at around 50cm x 40cm which are all available and a wonderful way of owning a piece of her work at a more accessible size and price point. These smaller paintings retain the same depth, detail, and emotional impact as her larger pieces, making them a perfect addition to any collection. They offer a unique opportunity for collectors to bring a bit of Beth’s epic landscape vision into more intimate spaces.

Whether you’re new to her work or looking to expand your collection, these smaller paintings are a perfect way to own an exceptional Beth Robertson Fiddes painting.

“It was mentioned several times during the opening of *Land-Sea-Sky* that there is no comparison between viewing this exhibition online and experiencing it in person. 🌊✨ You truly have to stand in front of these paintings to feel their full impact. Swipe to see the difference, but trust us—nothing beats seeing them in the flesh!”

**‘Breaking Wave, July’ is leaving us early** and heading up north to its new home! At 173cm x 122cm, this piece will leave a big space in our gallery, but we’re thrilled it’s found a new place to be admired. 🖼️✨

A special thanks to Beth for graciously agreeing to deliver a replacement painting to fill the gap. Stay tuned to see what’s coming next!
