We are delighted to have over 1800 followers. Thank you so much!!
Most of you will know we changed the gallery name a few years ago to include my own name, Eion Stewart, and opened a new page under Eion Stewart Fine Art. Nothing has changed, only the name of the gallery. It is owned and staffed by exactly the same people, we just needed to make the change. Gallery at Fifty Five changed its name to Eion Stewart Fine Art in 2018. There wasn't a buy-out or change of ownership, we just decided to use the owner's name instead of the number above the door - well, it makes sense, don't you think? We kept the Gallery at Fifty Five page going - we tried merging the pages, etc. but to no avail. So we now run two pages posting identical posts - crazy! Now, to stop the confusion, we'd like to invite all of our fantastic friend and followers who have supported us for so long to switch over to the the Eion Stewart Fine Art page, if you've not already done so, where we'd love for you to continue to follow and like us from there, as we'll be closing this page shortly. Today marks the centenary of the birth of Joan Eardley (1921-1963)
From painting camouflage on boats to Royal Academy exhibitions. Glasgow’s impoverished children to Catterline’s big seas and cliffs. “When I’m painting in the North East, I hardly ever move out of the village, I hardly ever move from one spot. I do feel the more you know something, the more you can get out of it. That’s the North East. It’s just vast waves, vast seas, vast areas of cliff. Well, you’ve just got to paint it.” Joan Eardley
