Stonehaven Tolbooth Museum

Stonehaven Tolbooth Museum Historic local attraction, the museum is located right on the harbour quayside in the oldest building in Stonehaven. Lots to see and do.

Take photo looking through bars of an original jail cell. Dinosaur trail for children. Museum is run by local volunteers wearing their famous red fleeces. Entry is FREE but donations are always welcome. Outdoor programme of events held in Museum Courtyard over the summer months.

Today is World Photography Day!
The Stonehaven Tolbooth Association trustees had a meeting last Wednesday. When the business was completed my eyes fell on a watercolour that I had never noticed before. As a fellow trustee pointed out, I really need to spend more time in the museum!
Anyway, this is the painting. It is looking towards the auld toon from Stonehaven Beach. I really like it.
The back of the Tolbooth is pretty much in the centre of the picture.

Last Saturday we were happy to welcome Elaine from SomethingCorny to the museum. Visitors were able to have a go at making Corn Dollies and buy a few of Elaine's pieces.
