Modular Dynamics in Sculpture

Part Buster Keaton deadpan, part Road Runner energy - this is sculpture with a sense of timing. Following the opening on Saturday 5th September, Jim Roseveare’s sculptural centrepiece will be reconfigured every week throughout the exhibition. Come for the first look; visit for the weekly transformations.

Today is the last day to see our latest exhibition ‘Flux’

Flux is a new exhibition exploring mapping as a critical, speculative, and political practice through the work of architects and researchers Gihan Karunaratne, Prof.
Nishat Awan, and Dr Angeliki Sakellariou. Rather than presenting maps as static representations, the exhibition reimagines mapping as an evolving process that reveals the shifting relationships between space, power, and lived experience.

Bringing together diverse methodologies, Flux examines how spatial practices can document urban transformation, challenge dominant narratives, and imagine more equitable futures. Across themes of migration, resilience, public space, and collective agency, the exhibition demonstrates how mapping can expose hidden spatial relationships while responding to the complexities of contemporary cities.

Collectively, Flux positions mapping as an active practice that embraces uncertainty, reveals overlooked realities, and opens possibilities for participation and transformation. The exhibition invites audiences to reconsider maps not simply as records of place, but as powerful tools for imagining more just, resilient, and responsive urban futures.

This Saturday, architects and researchers, Gihan Karunaratne and Dr Angeliki Sakellariou will be discussing their work in relation to ‘Flux’ their current exhibition at Project 78 Gallery.

This will take the form of a crit, where the audience are invited to participate in this critique of the exhibition.

Mark Spelman worked on and off in the Middle East as an Art handler for over 10 years. He once pulled a six month shift in a small desert town that was being reconfigured as a Premium Art Destination, after which he decided to form his own religion. That didn’t work out so well. These works on paper are an homage to the time he has spent there, the influence of the wider regional culture and the occasional struggles he had making sense of what he was doing there, why he was doing it, and for what purpose. They are the kind of contradictions that can only occur when you find yourself in-between cultures, jobs and meaning. They are illuminations: of time squandered, traded and well spent, as well as the kind of mythologies that you create through endless repetition of the same stories, told to the same people in the back of a van.
