The 5th March 1928 saw the creation of the De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Ltd.
The de Havilland Aircraft of Canada Ltd established at Downsview, Toronto, originally to build DH Moths for training young pilots. During WW2, it built in excess of 1,500 Tiger Moths and 1,100 Mosquitos. In the 80's it was privatised and in 1986 was sold to Boeing. Six years later, it was acquired by Bombardier Aerospace and in 2006 Viking Air purchased the Type Certificates for the eight indigenous de Havilland Canada (DHC) designed aircraft. In November 2018, Longview Aviation Capital acquired the rights to the de Havilland name and trademark and on 3 June 2019 it was renamed de Havilland Aircraft of Canada Ltd
