I’m sure everyone is aware of the dire situation at Dunwich and now Sutton in Yorkshire, the fire risk here on the airfield and surrounding areas is extremely high.
Please be extra vigilant around the site and within your areas of work, please pass on to all employees and visitors:

NO SMOKING / NAKED FLAMES ANYWHERE ON AIRFIELD
AVOID GRINDING / CUTTING OR USE OF HOT EQUIPMENT IN GRASSY AREAS
BE ALERT FOR SIGNS OF FIRE AND REPORT WITHOUT DELAY TO SECURITY AND EMERGENCY SERVICES

The museum is open on Sunday 2nd August, which is the 57th anniversary of the loss of Colonel George S.Dorman who was Vice Wing Commander of the 81st Tactical Fighter Wing (TFW) at RAF Bentwaters/RAF Woodbridge in 1967.
He became Vice Wing Commander of the 366th TFW in 1969 flying missions over North Vietnam and was lost on a mission on the 4th August,1969.
The museum has a memorial to him outside the museum entrance which was recovered from RAF Woodbridge when the British Army were creating their new base.
