Ever wonder what it actually takes to pull off a Day Out With Thomas?

What you see on the day is magical, but what happens behind the scenes is a different story! This video is just a small glimpse of the massive team effort that goes into prepping the site:

🚂 Locomotive & Site Prep: Getting the engines ready and polishing every detail.
🎪 Decorations & Setup: Stringing up bunting, transforming the spaces, and setting up the tea cups for our youngest visitors.
☕ Cafe & Hospitality: Stocking the shelves and prepping the cafe to feed hungry families all weekend long.
🗺️ Activity Packs: Hand-collating hundreds of maps, activity booklets, official train ride certificates, and exclusive Thomas bandanas so every child gets that instant spark of magic.

It takes an incredible amount of patience, care, and teamwork to get everything ready for our visitors. We can’t wait to welcome you this weekend for the last Day Out With Thomas of the year!

There is a very specific rhythm and language to working a heritage steam locomotive. Stepping onto the footplate of Peckett & Sons No. 1370 is like stepping back in time.

Preserving and operating these 1915 industrial engines takes a tremendous amount of care, coal, and teamwork from our dedicated volunteers and engineering crew here at Quainton. Every clank and hiss tells a story of Britain's industrial past.🚂

A whole day of Thomas fun, all included in your ticket! 💙

If you're joining us for Day Out With Thomas™ this weekend, there's plenty to keep the little ones busy!

As well as unlimited train rides with Thomas and Percy, you can enjoy our Miniature Railway, meet Sir Topham Hatt, join Rusty & Dusty for live shows and singalongs, and have a go at our character hunt.

There's also Trevor the Traction Engine, trailer rides, teacup rides, model trains, garden games and Music Corner to enjoy, plus our miniature railway will be running!

Clowns, a terrifying maze, a serial killer looming in the shadows, and a spooky train ride... are you brave enough? 💀

Our Halloween Night Fright are happening on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st October, and we are holding nothing back this year! If you dare to step foot onto Quainton Road after dark, you'll have to brave our twisted mazes, keep an eye out for creepy clowns, watch your back for our resident serial killer, and take a ride on our spooky train 🚂

💙 A Day Out With Thomas: This weekend (October 17th & 18th)! Join us for a family-favourite weekend packed with train rides, characters, and activities.

☁️ Steaming Day: October 25th, come enjoy a classic day out watching our engines in steam and exploring the site.

🎃 Halloween "Night Fright": October 30th & 31st, spooky evening fun as the clocks turn and things get frightful!

🎅🏻 Panto Express & Father Christmas: Running on select dates from November 28th right through to December 22nd, get into the festive holiday spirit!

✨ Christmas Party Night: December 11th. a special evening celebration to close out the year in style.
