Today is the last day to see our working steam engine models made by a local engineer!

📚 Every child has a story to tell - BBC 500 words is BACK!!

BBC 500 Words is the UK’s largest story-writing competition for 5–11 year-olds. Entries open at 8am on Tuesday 29 September and close at 9pm on Friday 6 November 2026.

BBC 500 Words is open to children wherever they are and however they learn. Whether they’re in school, learning in hospital, or home educated, every child can have a go at writing their own story.

The competition is all about creativity, and spelling, punctuation and grammar aren’t marked so children can focus on their ideas and let their imaginations lead the way.

Today we had fun Paignton Library joining the Lib team on future transport.

Children saw books about future transport, coloured pictures of transport vehicles. The team from STEAM Led a practical experiment showing how a future transport could be made.

It was a great collaboration with the team at the Lib, have you seen the upcoming sessions they are running?

Solar eclipse today.
Don't hurt your eyes or your kids eyes.

Please do not look directly at the sun.

A simple and safe way to see the eclipse is with a simple pinhole projector.
All you need is a piece of card and a sheet of white paper and a pin.

With this method noone looks at the sun so it's safe and fun!

Explore, discover and have fun.

We have over 40 science exhibits and more lego than, well, probably the biggest lego collection in Devon.
Entry is just £5 for people aged 5 and over.
Visit in the morning, come back later in the day for no charge!
