The Palace House Estate is a 5-acre site in the heart of Newmarket. It comprises three complementary attractions; National Horseracing Museum in the Trainer’s House and King’s Yard Galleries, Packard Galleries of British Sporting Art in Palace House, and a chance to meet former racehorses in the flagship home of Retraining of Racehorses. We have a fabulous restaurant and gift shop onsite and visit

s can take from 3 hours to a full day, and sometimes even more…! However, don’t worry if you can’t fit it all in in one day – upgrade your ticket to an annual pass for FREE to return as many times as you like for 12 months after purchase.

Thirteen years ago today, Estimate stormed to victory in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot, creating a moment of racing history that our Yard Assistant and Discover Newmarket Guide, Kerry (on left), remembers like it was yesterday. Why? Because she was there.



Kerry spent more than 30 years working for Sir Michael Stoute and had the privilege of looking after the late Queen Elizabeth II’s beloved Estimate. She vividly recalls Her Majesty visiting the yard the day after that unforgettable triumph.



Kerry is just one of the many fascinating characters on our team whose lifelong careers in racing are filled with incredible stories and memories. Next time you visit the Yard, be sure to stop and chat with her – you never know what racing tale she might share!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Today we say farewell to Paul Wi******er and his wonderful team as Dandelion Catering departs the Tack Room, bringing to a close six successful years at the Museum. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Paul and the entire team for their hard work, dedication and support during their time with us.

As we prepare for an exciting new chapter, the Tack Room will be closed from today until 1 July. We look forward to sharing further updates with you soon.
