In 1934 Mildenhall was in the middle of an international news story! We have a lovely selection in our gift shop if you'd like to know more about this pivotal moment in our history... our book Memories of the Great Air Race has first hand accounts of the event plus a summary of the race itself and how it came to Mildenhall - so popular we're onto our 2nd edition now.
All these are available in our gift shop, and any of them would make a super Christmas present!

We couldn't celebrate the 1934 Air Race with out showing the winning team!
Here's the DeHavilland DH.88 Comet The Grosvenor House at RAF Mildenhall before the big day and the pilots Scott and Campbell Black. The pilots were in the air a record breaking 65 hours 23 minutes and 13 seconds to win the Speed Race!
