Working with Xibitr has been fantastic - first our Trustee Lloyd had to open the display cabinet so Ian and James could access all 34 pieces of our authentic replicas. The plan was to scan, photograph and write notes about the Treasure.

We've been very fortunate to work with Xibitr to design and make our mixed reality experience using the Mildenhall Treasure. Over the next few days we'll be posting about their visit at the end of May when we opened our cabinet for the end of phase one - scanning and photographing the Treasure!

We had the cabinet open for a very exciting project in May. It gave us an opportunity to look at the treasure up close. Look at the detail on this beautiful spoon. You can see our replica treasure and some of the molds that were made from the real treasure in the British Museum at our wonderful museum in King's Street, Mildenhall.
Free entry and we have a wonderful gift shop!

According to Dr Dring's "Mildenhall in Postcards", Mildenhall received mains water in 1939, so the pump was in operation until after that. Lots of lovely recollections about people remembering their relatives collecting water from the pump, or having a well near their house for water.
We enjoyed reading your comments - thanks if you joined in.

Well done to Maddie MacKenzie on the Beck Row Community Page who was 100% right giving both the name and how you use it! It is a dressmaker's dummy. You put the wire mesh around your body and squeeze it until it fits your shape. Then take it off and you have a dress making form of your own measurements! Fantastic!
We had lots of correct answers and some that made us chuckle 😆😆😆
You can see this item in our 1950s room downstairs at the museum.

Lots of people guessed this mystery object - Well Done! It's a hand seed drill which the farmer could adjust to sow the seeds in the required amount.
There's lots of agricultural history in our Brecks and Fens gallery upstairs at the museum.
