If you need some inspiration our first floor contains some wonderful fossil and finds from around Sheppey! We’re open today from 2-4:30pm

We’re now open on Wednesday which means you can benefit from the vast historical knowledge of Jonathan too as well as our other fabulous volunteers! 😊

If you miss Jonathan on the Wednesday well we also have a special “History of Queenborough” talk and a visit to Queenborough Guild Hall coming up and led by Jonathan. Details are:

The event is free for members of Sheppey Local History Society. Non-members are asked to pay £2 towards the setup costs of meetings.

Doris is all ready for our Fossils and Finds event, she’s a little too early though as it’s not until Saturday 27th June (11-3pm)! 😂

In the meantime why not come see our other artefacts and collections. We’ll be opening up the museum on Wednesday and Saturday (2-4:30pm) in June in the build up to Summer. So even more chances to come visit us 😊

Huge thanks to David Brown for telling us even more about the wrecks around Sheppey - who knew there were so many! 🚢

We’ve got a guided tour at the end of June and we’ll be taking part in the Festival of Sheppey for a special event day too so watch this space for updates! 👀

Tomorrow (Tuesday 26th May) we’ll be at the Minster Working Men’s Club as David Brown tells us all about the “Wrecks Around Sheppey”

This talk is £2 for non-members and free to members of the Sheppey Local History Society. We ask that everyone attending arrives from 7-7:15pm ready for a prompt 7:30 start. A great way to round off the bank holiday weekend!

Yesterday we were seeing temperatures of 30°C outside in the sun but a cool 22°C inside. So if you want some shelter from the heat our stone building provides some natural aircon! 😂
