❗Important update❗

Due to the heat weather warnings issued by the Met Office, we have made the following decisions:

The museum will remain open but we are reminding visitors that there is no air conditioning in the galleries, which means it may be very warm despite our best efforts.

Crowns Café will be closing early at 1pm on Wednesday 24 June and Thursday 25 June to allow us to turn off hot equipment, protecting the kitchen and cafe staff.

The cafe does have air con and water will be available should you need it.

Thank you for your support - we hope you all stay safe and as cool as possible during this heatwave 🥵

The Dig For Victory vegetable garden is thriving (we plan to use the produce in Crowns Café!) and our REME colour window boxes are blooming 💙💛❤️

Some of our staff visited the Royal Artillery Museum in Larkhill today for a Museums in Wiltshire meeting.

It was great to hear updates from Museum Development South West, attending museums and the Royal Artillery Museum - including their ‘Guns on the Plain’ project to build a new museum.

We can confirm the REME Bears enjoyed their visit too, particularly the tour of the collection 🧸😁

This piece of metal might look insignificant but it is actually an example of how REME trainees learn the skills of their trade.

Trade test pieces are individual to each trade, manufactured from raw materials to demonstrate the high standards achieved through training.
