Another brilliant weekend, thank you to everyone that visited. Simon came with his WW1 exhibits on Saturday.
Martin Rose, brought a WW2 stretcher, and John Plowman donated a child's gas mask, which is in amazing condition for it's age, and quite scary!. Thank you, Simon, Martin and John.
The Hut won't be open on Saturday September 5th, as I shall be at Drayton Street Fair, for it's 1940's themed event. But the Hut will be open on Sunday 6th.

Somerset, July 1645 was the year of the Battle of Langport. The conflict between King Charles 1st, and Parliament, about Religion, Taxes, and Laws. Most of the County was Royalist, except Taunton, which had a garrison under the command of Colonel Robert Blake - later Admiral. The main Royalist stronghold was under Colonel Edmund Wyndham, at Bridgwater.

The Battle of Sedgemoor 1685, the last battle on English soil.
This time, King Charles 1st, with Sir Ralph Hopton, had Oliver Cromwell, Lord Fairfax, Robert Blake and John Pym to contend with.

I spent a lovely morning last Friday, visiting the Curry Rivel Pensioners Luncheon Club. I took lots of books and objects, and as usual, I was busy chatting and listening to stories and memories, that I forgot to take photos of the morning.!
