Introducing Daisy Miller •
Working through semi-figurative painting, Miller approaches landscape and artefact as fragments caught between presence and disappearance. Her work draws on archival material, photographic records, personal documents, public collections, yet resists direct illustration.
Central to her practice is the gap between her own experience and the experience she paints from. Working from other people’s memories and inherited images of places she may never have visited, she is interested in what painting can hold , and what it distorts when the distance between maker and source remains intact.
