Ghanian artist Kojo Marfo developed his interest in art and visual culture through traditional Akan artifacts, sculptures and carvings that he was exposed to as a child growing up in Ghana. Through his extensive travels and references to traditional Akan art, Marfo has developed a unique style that seeks to explore a self-referential perspective of the Black image by creating figurative abstractions that showcase the beauty woven into Africa’s social and geographical fabric.

Multidisciplinary artist F**d Hamzeh speaks about his evolution from calligraphy to sculpture, and his ongoing UAE inspired exhibition, at The Lana - Dorchester collection, that reflect themes of resilience, hope and community.

Placed across key locations around The Lana till the 15th of June, the sculptures form a connected narrative that unfolds throughout the hotel, guiding visitors through shifting emotional and spatial experiences.
