Foredawn presents a new direction in Vladimir Logutov’s work, following Fire Run and Fireline.

Visibility has almost disappeared, attuning the eye to minimal changes, shifts of grey, the space between black and dark, and the faint movement of light. Darkness no longer closes the space; it asks perception to work differently.

At the centre of the exhibition is a new large-scale painting alongside a series of works on paper. Here, images exist at the threshold of emergence, appearing gradually through barely perceptible tonal shifts and the deliberate effort of looking.

Foredawn captures a moment where forms remain partly hidden in darkness, yet the expectation of dawn is already present—held between shadow, attention, and the possibility of first light.

Reversing the historical logic of the Grand Tour, The Stone and His Boy turns away from metropolitan centres to explore the periphery, provincial identity, and displaced memories. Rooted in q***r experience and Central and Eastern European perspectives, the exhibition transforms the gallery into a cabinet of curiosities—where objects, masks, textiles, and stones act not as mere props, but as companions with agency of their own.

Set in Vauxhall, a historically charged hub for London's q***r culture, the show traces an unexpected lineage connecting London, Warsaw, and the Polish interior, questioning what is central, what is local, and what is rendered silent.

Presented as part of the Poland Now festival, organised by the ARTE Foundation, co-financed by the Senate of the Republic of Poland, produced by the No Title Foundation, and partnered with the Polish Cultural Institute in London.

A preview of what’s to come at ASC Cleaver Street for Don’t Let That Horse Eat That Violin.

Leading the preview is Ivan Burdon’s Self-Portrait, as Graduate (oil on canvas), followed by works from 3 exhibiting artists. The group show highlights the expansive possibilities of paint, offering a space where intimacies, desires, and playful narratives coexist outside of language.

Inspired by the myth of the Tower of Babel, Babel Babble brings together the nineteen artists of the ‘Changeable Beast’ collective to explore the diverse languages of sculpture. The exhibition considers how artists communicate through distinct materials, objects, and forms, inviting viewers to discover whether these individual artistic voices form a cacophony, a conversation, or a symphony when brought together in a shared space.

Almost Together brings together the work of Loretta Yussuff and Cathalina Navarro Lagos, exploring intimacy, distance and the inner worlds we can never fully know.

Through saturated colour, figuration and layered material approaches, the artists create spaces where interior life meets surrounding landscapes and domestic environments, moving between moments of solitude, longing, connection and observation.

Developed through an ongoing exchange of ideas across geographical distance, the exhibition reflects on what it means to reach towards another person while recognising the space that can never quite be crossed.

Before our move to The Handbag Factory in Vauxhall, ASC Gallery called Thurlow Street home. In November 2016, we hosted Saelia Aparicio’s Burning with Joy—a dystopian installation drawing inspiration from J.G. Ballard’s novel and David Cronenberg’s film Crash (1996), the anime Akira, and Julia Kristeva’s theory of the abject.

Reflecting on the project, ASC Exhibitions Director Darren O’Brien recalls sourcing car doors from a South London scrap yard, which Aparicio then transformed with intricate drawings and suspended from the gallery ceiling on wire.
