Something spooky is brewing at the Museum of Lincolnshire Life

Step into a world of Halloween magic this half term and join us for a spooktacular day packed with creepy crafts, wicked games, fun activities and a frightfully fun Halloween trail to explore around the museum.

Come dressed to impress… or should we say, terrify! We’d love to see your most creative, creepy and terrifying Halloween costumes!

£4 per child on the event day
(Children must be accompanied by an adult)

Bring the whole family along for a day of Halloween fun, spooky surprises and plenty of things to discover!

Did you know Butlin’s in Skegness played a part in Beatles history?

In the summer of 1962, John Lennon and Paul McCartney travelled to Butlins, Skegness to recruit drummer Ringo Starr from Rory Storm and the Hurricane who were playing there. Just weeks later, Ringo joined The Beatles, helping complete the line up that would take the world by storm!

Here at the Museum of Lincolnshire Life, our two Butlin’s bikes help tell the story of this iconic holiday camp with its surprising connection to music history!

Well, I say! What a splendid day! Tally ho and pip pip!

Our 1940s Living Event is in full swing, with more wonderful characters bringing the wartime years to life here at the Museum! There’s a real buzz about the place, so don’t miss out, chums!

We’re open until 4pm, so put on your glad rags and pop along. We look forward to seeing you!

It’s the final day of our wonderful 1940s Weekend at the Museum of Lincolnshire Life!

There’s still time to join us and meet our fantastic 1940s characters, chat with them, take part in our Home Guard drill, discover wartime rationing in the kitchen, learn all about Make Do and Mend, and enjoy our family trail, with plenty more to see and do!

The sun is shining, so why not make the most of this lovely day and pop along to see us? We’d love to welcome you!

What a wonderful first day at our 1940s Weekend!

There’s still time to join us today, with two hours left to explore our fantastic artefacts, meet the lovely characters in our room settings and soak up the atmosphere of the 1940s!

Can’t make it today? Don’t worry! We’ll be back tomorrow for another fun filled day with plenty to see and do, including our fantastic family trail.

THIS WEEKEND!!! The Museum of Lincolnshire Life invites you to our 1940s Weekend on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th October, open from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm (last entry 3.45 pm).

Experience the spirit of the wartime years with Make Do and Mend family activities, listen to how children were evacuated, experience a taste of the 1940s kitchen with recipes and rationing, hear thrilling stories of the Women's Land Army and the Home Guard.

Wander through displays of original WW2 artefacts and take part in our wartime trail and much, much more!

Everyone is encouraged to arrive in their finest 1940s attire.....so polish those shoes, set those curls, and step into the style of yesteryear!

Admission is just £3.00 for adults, £2.00 for children and
£6.50 for a family ticket (two adults and up to three children).

Step back in time and experience life on the British Home Front during the 1940s.
Discover what it was like in a wartime kitchen, exploring period recipes and learning how rationing affected everyday family life. Find out about the role of the Home Guard, hear about children who were evacuated from their homes, and learn how the nation embraced the famous "Make Do and Mend" campaign to cope with wartime shortages.
There will be displays of original Second World War artefacts, offering a fascinating insight into Britain's wartime history. Families are welcome to take part in our wartime trail.
All visitors are encouraged to attend dressed in their finest 1940s attire and help bring the spirit of the era to life.
Admission: £3.00 adults, £2.00 Children or £6.50 for a family ticket (two adults and up to three children).
