When was the last time the Army Catering Corps, cooked you a breakfast in the field?
This Sunday finishes off Armed Forces week, but it also coincides with our Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club. What better way to end the Armed Forces week, than with a full hearty breakfast cooked in the field, by veteran ACC chefs. You wont hear the words "wan sausage". Your plate will be full and you can have as much tea/coffee as you want. Breakfast starts at 10.00 and finishes whenever there is no food left. Breakfast is only £10 per head, which includes entrance to the museum, (normally £8.00). All serving military personnel and veterans welcome, but please let us know you are coming as we cannot guarantee you will get fed if you are not booked in. There will also be a bottle raffle round about 12.00 so bring some cash.

Sadly, we have just been donated a huge amount of Model kits "stash", from an old friend and veteran that I served with. I wont go into details, but we were given them to raise funds for Military Museum Scotland. (Those who know, know). We will part with most of the kits to raise funds, but there is a number of the kits that our Master Modeller George Maher, will have the honour of building them and will form part of a display in our new museum. We feel the best way to raise funds is by holding an Auction, and each kit will go to the highest bidder. Some of the kits are as rare as rocking horse s&%t, or so I have been told.
If you are into Military Model making, the date for your diary is Saturday 19th of September from 11.00. Some of the kits will have a reserve price, like most auctions. The kits will be listed nearer the event. But for now, here is a small selection below.

Its not long to go our next RC Tankfest on Sunday 19th July, but planning continues for the return of our Annual Military Gathering. This year's event will also include our rescheduled Military Vehicle Show. Tickets are now on sale at Military Museum Scotland, or by contacting us on [email protected] Tickets must be booked and paid for before the event as we are limited by numbers. Definitely an event not to miss.
Ticket prices are on the poster below as are a small rundown of what we have coming along. New attractions will be added as we get confirmation of attendance. There is also a limited number of stalls available, crafts, militaria etc please email to confirm requirements and to book your space.

You probably know that at the moment, fundraising is the main priority at Military Museum Scotland, as we need to find and move to a new location in the near future. Every penny raised from now on will go towards that.
A big dates for your diary is the 15th/16th August when our Annual Military Gathering returns. We are planning loads of things, and things never been seen at Military Museum Scotland before. So a weekend not to be missed. Please keep watching for further details over the coming days & weeks.
For now though we need your help. We are planning a fundraising Auction over the weekend and we are looking for some amazing items to auction off. If we get enough items we will hold the auction on both days. We already have a few valuable items already but we do need a few more. Can you help? You probably noticed that recently I posted about one of our fundraising initiatives "Another Brick In The Wall". The post prompted a lot of questions, mostly "how can I sponsor a brick, but cant visit the museum". Obviously the best way is by visiting the museum if you can, not only can you then sponsor a brick but you can also see what we are all about. There is another way to sponsor a brick/bricks and that is by sending me an email to [email protected] please mark it as Brick Sponsor. If you have never visited Military Museum Scotland, but have always wanted too but not had the chance yet. You have probably wondered, what there is to see and do.
At Military Museum Scotland we have over 70 display cabinets packed full of genuine military artefacts. We have over 15 full mannequins and over 40 torso mannequins displaying various uniforms and kit. Over 100 heads displaying a variety of head wear from all services. 8 amazing displays inside the museum and countless other items on display. Not to mention our 3 motorbikes dating back to WWII all the way to a more recent Harley Davidson 350 and thats just the indoors. Outside we have 3 fantastic display areas, a WWI trench system. 6 tented displays, 9 military vehicles and 6 artillery pieces. We also have a remembrance/memorial garden where we hold our annual remembrance service on 11th of November. All that and you can have a cuppa and share the banter with veterans from all 3 services. A great day out, you can even bring a picnic and enjoy our picnic area. No booking required, we are open from 10.00 to 16.00 with last entry at 14.30. What you see on display at Military Museum Scotland is only about a third of what we have to show. The hunt is on for a new larger home for our collection, library and archive, so it is all accessible to everyone.
