Had a great visit today( even though we are closed), from Kents finest. Great bunch of guys, and girl. Having a wee bit time out from their duties at COP26. It was a pleasure to show them around Military Museum Scotland.

Just putting this out there, we are looking for lots of golf putters and golf balls for the museum so if you have any lying around or know anyone who has some, please hand them in to the museum. We do not want sets of golf clubs, just putters and balls. Thanks.

Refurb work at Military Museum Scotland has paused for a couple if days. I took a few days off to recharge the batteries and to think and plan. Lots of new ideas ahead for Military Museum Scotland. Keep watching. We will reopen for business on Friday 5th of November, normal timings, 10.00-16.00. Unfortunately we have had to increase our prices slightly, but still great value for money. A few pics of the work going on, without giving too much away.

The Award winning Military Museum Scotland is now closed for a mini refurb where we will be adding too, and updating our displays. Military Museum Scotland will be reopening on Friday 5th of November. Unfortunately, due to current circumstances, we have no option but to raise our entry fees. We have tried to last as long as we can without increases. With the current fuel prices, and the cost of almost everything else, we now have no choice. From the 5th of November our entry fees will be, £7.50 per adult, £4.00 per child and family ticket will be £19.50 thats for 2 adults and up to 3 children. Even with the small increase, we still offer great value. Over the past 2 years we have more than doubled in size and now have so many things to see both inside and out. You can break up your visit with some refreshments in the VHS. (Veterans Hub Scotland), where you may get the chance to chat with some of our regular veteran visitors.

Triple award winning Military Museum Scotland, continues to go from strength to strength despite still operating under Covid restrictions. Every day we welcome new visitors to the museum, along with returning visitors, coming back again and again. Its great to see. Next year will see huge changes for Military Museum Scotland, so please keep watching and following what we do. The changes start now! From this Sunday, 17th of October, we will be closed until Friday 5th of November. During that time there will be a number of changes, mostly to the library area, but to find out what changes are being made, you will have to visit from next month. We will also be changing our opening hours for the winter. We will only be open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays until March next year, when we will return to normal opening hours.
November will also see a number of events. Obviously on the 11th of November we will be paying our respects on Remembrance Day at our Remembrance area. Volunteering at the museum
One of the hardest things for a charity is to attract volunteers to help out. Triple award winning Military Museum Scotland is no exception. We are 100% staffed by volunteers and we are always on the lookout for more. We need volunteers to help out, not just on the normal opening hours of the museum, but also to help with the many events we have throughout the year. Do you have what it takes to be a volunteer? Do you have time on your hands to help Military Museum Scotland.
You do not have to be ex military to volunteer, but you do have to be keen and willing to become part of our family of volunteers. We are looking for many skills and experiences but an interest in military things would be desirable. We are holding a volunteer open day on Saturday the 18th of September from 10.30-14.30. Come along and find out more about volunteering at Military Museum Scotland and have a chat with some of our volunteers. If you think you have what it takes, please pop into the museum on the 18th. We look forward to meeting you.

Wow! 2021 is going to be a monumental year for Military Museum Scotland. you need to keep watching.
Hi Ian, Here are a selection of photos of the stones painted by Blesma, members in Scotland for the Cairn of Reembrance. We will come and deliver them in person as soon as we are able.
Very apt....
We were there last Monday, fabulous collection, highly commended.
