A quick reminder, folks, that we have two of our regular events tomorrow: crochet group in the morning and warm welcome group in the afternoon. All welcome 😀.

Thursday 11am - 12.30pm. Crochet group. A recently-established free group. Come and learn to crochet with one of our volunteers or, if you crochet already, bring your project along (any yarn project will do!). Thanks to Sobi Shaw for contributing this group to the life of the Museum. No need to book.

Thursday 2.30pm - 4pm. Warm Welcome/Cool Space group. This is another drop-in free group. Come along for free cold or hot drinks, a chat or peace and quiet in a beautiful air-conditioned space. ☕🥤

Every Saturday and Tuesday 10am - 2pm. Regular opening hours; free entry to all. Browse the galleries, see the weaving demos, browse the gift shop.

💕As ever, a heartfelt thank you to all who help keep this fantastic Museum open and help pass on the story of Kidderminster: the volunteers, the visitors and you, our followers. Every like, share and comment is much appreciated and helps enormously. 💕

We just want to take a moment to thank everyone for all your support over the last six months. As many of our followers know, the Museum had to close in December 2025 through lack of funds. In the weeks that followed that announcement the outpouring of support was incredible, and we remain so thankful for that. It gave us the confidence, in February 2026, to re-open two days a week as an entirely voluntary run organisation, open free of charge to all visitors.

As well as opening *every Saturday and Tuesday from 10am to 2pm*, our volunteers have worked hard at putting on activities to showcase our town's fascinating and important history. There is more to come, and we don't want to run before we can walk, but rest assured that your support is hugely appreciated. Every Like and Share helps keeps our story alive; every good word to a friend or neighbour, recommendation, and Google/Tripadvisor review helps spread the word that we are open for business and that a warm welcome awaits visitors to Kidderminster.

Enjoy these pics - all taken in the last ten days 😀 .

**Autumn Exhibition - on until October 10th 2026**

💛Viewing during normal Museum opening hours: Saturdays and Tuesdays 10am-2pm.
💛Entrance to both the museum and the exhibition is FREE.

Yesterday we opened our new exhibition, and everyone is welcome to come and take a look - we are sure you will love it! Local artist Colin Simmonds taught Art at Harry Cheshire School for over 20 years and so will be familiar to some of our followers. We'll be posting more photos of Collin's paintings over the coming days, but here is a taster to whet the appetite. If you're local to Wyre Forest, can you spot the locations?

Many thanks indeed to Collin Hill for his help with this exhibition and for taking these photographs.

One of our followers has messaged us with this fantastic photograph of her father, Barrie Salt. Barrie worked in the dyeing sheds at three of the major Kidderminster carpet factories. We think this photo was taken in about 1980, so no filters or digital enhancement were used to obtain the incredible light effect.

If anyone knows who the photographer was, we'd love to learn more. We believe it was taken for a magazine shoot.

Thank you to all those who came on this week's Walking Talk of Kidderminster! We are so grateful for all your positive feedback, too 😊.

Don't forget: there is another chance to go on the Walking Talk this coming Monday (24th Aug). Just meet outside the Museum for a 10.30am start. Well behaved dogs also welcome. The walks last about an hour and a half, as we wend our way around Kidderminster town centre, hearing quirky stories and some incredible history.

Let's give a big shout out to our volunteer, Mike Loftus, for contributing his time and deep knowledge of Kidderminster, and for helping the Museum keep telling the story of our town. 👏
