Amazing that our staff have such long and dedicated service. Congratulations.

Earlier this week, Cycle Response Unit Paramedic Robert celebrated his 40 years of service with London Ambulance Service.

During his remarkable career, Rob has worked in a number of frontline roles, helping shape services and care for countless patients across London. His career highlights include being one of the pioneers of the Fast Response Unit, he’s flown with London’s Air Ambulance and is now saving lives at Heathrow Airport.

To mark the milestone, Rob was presented with his long-service award by Deputy Director of Ambulance Operations, Peter Rhodes.

Reflecting on four decades of service, Rob said he has cherished every minute of his career – and he has no plans to hang up his cycling shorts just yet! 🚴‍♂️

Join us in congratulating Rob on this incredible achievement and thanking him for his dedication to patients over the last 40 years.

International Visitors were at the Historic Collection today all the way from the USA.

We were happy to enable a visit by the University of New Mexico EMS Academy. It was great to be able to connect our history with colleagues abroad and show off some of our amazing 111 years history. Our volunteers and collection staff were on hand to make sure they saw as much as possible.

The feedback was great and we hope they will be able to return in coming years.

Thank you all for taking the time to visit us.

This weekend we will be attending the IWM Duxford History Festival. A festival of all things WW2. Our 1935 fully functional Talbot Ambulance will be there alongside a small display of related items by volunteers of the Historic Collection. We will be joined on the day by a 1948 Wolsley courtesy of the Metropolitan Police Museum.

This is the second time we have worked with IWM Duxford to bring something to a wider audience. Check the link to their site for more information.

Join expert historians, writers and leading minds for a weekend filled with real stories from the First World War, Second World War and contemporary conflict at the airfield that made history. Tickets on sale now.

We are always proud of the work our volunteers do for us. But one of our volunteers went further and gave a presentation to a local history group that he is a member of. This led to an article in their magazine that is shared far and wide.

Thanks Andy for taking the time to help promote what we do.

Whether they're caring for patients, sharing CPR skills with the public, helping our Wellbeing Support Vehicles or supporting our charity at events, volunteers make a BIG difference for and our partners 💚

We can't thank you enough for everything you do.
