London Ambulance Service Historic Collection

This weekend we will be attending the IWM Duxford History Festival. A festival of all things WW2. Our 1935 fully functional Talbot Ambulance will be there alongside a small display of related items by volunteers of the Historic Collection. We will be joined on the day by a 1948 Wolsley courtesy of the Metropolitan Police Museum.

This is the second time we have worked with IWM Duxford to bring something to a wider audience. Check the link to their site for more information.

We are always proud of the work our volunteers do for us. But one of our volunteers went further and gave a presentation to a local history group that he is a member of. This led to an article in their magazine that is shared far and wide.

Today we remember those killed, and all those injured and affected by the London Bridge terror attack on 03.06.2017. We also remember the incredible bravery of our people on scene and in the control rooms that day.

This week the Historic Collections Team installed another Gallery. Featuring images from our archives that showcase the 111 years of London Ambulance Service. The gallery was installed at our Headquarters and will bring more of our history to life for our staff.

We thought everyone here might like to have a peek also.

Several of our locations now have heritage galleries including both educations centres and Greenwich Ambulance Station.

Do let us know if you have a gallery space in London in need of a display, we'd love to work with someone creating one for public access.

Roll Up, Roll Up!!!

Only 4 places are left to pull our TeamLAS Truck 2 miles during the Uniformed Services Day Event in July. We need more pullers to help our CEO drag a 13 ton truck from Welling to Bexleyheath - to raise funds for charity.
