We were back in 1939 as Rufford Park Primary School visited us today for a WW2 workshop. The children experienced rationing and learnt about war strategy, as well as travelling on the steam train to Oxenhope as part an evacuation experience.

We found this super Lego steam train in the Learning Coach during our penultimate summer holiday opening day - final day September 3. But don’t worry, the Engine Shed and Carriage Works are open ALL year, bar a brief pause on Christmas Day!

Children from Kirklington were staying at Haworth Youth Hostel and came to us to undertake a Changes of State science workshop and to look around the museums. Our museums hosted Keighley and District Local History Society earlier this month. Bahamas Loco Society curator, Pete Skellon, started the day with a talk in the Learning Coach, and this was followed by a walk around the yard and calling in at the Engine Shed and Carriage Works.
