An Afternoon at the Mansion with the Mayor of Ipswich

Take a very special festive guided tour of Christchurch Mansion on Sunday 1 December.

Hosted by the Mayor, Councillor Elango Elavalakan, it’s a chance to have an exclusive two-hour exploration around this beautiful Tudor building and its 500 years of history.

Finish your visit by enjoying mince pies and a glass or two of mulled wine served at the end of the tour (non-alcoholic drinks also available). Take part in the afternoon’s prize raffle too. All proceeds from the event go to the Mayor’s Charities, Cancer Support Suffolk and Genesis Orwell Mencap.

Ipswich Borough Council have announced they want to close the Mansion half the week to save money. We think it's unnecessary and short sighted. The Mansion has an internationally important art collection, children's activities and it's just a nice place to visit. Thousands of visitors every year agree, if you do too please share

Everyone is always welcome at the Mansion but sadly IBC have decided to close on Tuesdays and Wednesdays next year
