Thats another Ipswich Transport and Model Festival over for the year.

Our thanks to our friends at IPMS Ipswich, IRMA, Scograil, Orwell Model Railways, Coastal DCC and Ipswich Model Engineering Society. Also thanks to Chris Sampson and Andrew Cook for the loan of their buses.

We hope everyone had a good day, certainly the weather helped!

Our next special event is the 1st ITM Beer Festival on 31st July - 2nd August, or you may see us out and about at local shows over the next few weeks.

We still have a few spaces available for displays of model transport at the Museum for next Saturdays Transport and Model Festival.

Our next Special Event is the annual Ipswich Transport & Model Festival

Join us alongside our friends at the IPMS Ipswich Ipswich Railway Modellers Association SCOGRAIL Coastal DCC Orwell Model Railways Ipswich Model Engineering Society on Saturday 20th June to explore transport in miniature across 6 sites in East Ipswich.

Either buy a single ticket for all attractions, or just visit individual shows - all connected by a free heritage bus service provided by Ipswich Transport Museum.

DID YOU KNOW?

Our Museum is completely volunteer run and led?

As part of we'd like to say thank you to all our amazing volunteers for the work they do - much of it behind the scenes.

So what do our team do....

- Visitor Experience - front of house guides, tea room, sales shop, vehicle operations
- Maintenance - mechanical (vehicle maintenance), other exhibits, building, grounds, electrical, plumbing, cleaning
- Archiving - cataloguing, scanning, documenting, assisting with research enquiries
- Restoration - project management, craftsmanship, restoring, painting, upholstering, bodywork, carpentry
- Back office - maintaining accreditations, answering queries, producing Friends newsletters, co-ordinating school visits, display board creation, publicity, health and safety, insurance,
- Management - Trustees, strategic planning, collaboration with other organisations

and much more!

Thank you to everyone who attended our Rear Engined Bus Running Day we hope you enjoyed your day with us.

A huge thank you to those who brought buses along for people to see or ride on. With the price of diesel at the moment it is very much appreciated.

Our next event is our Classic Bike Days or we are open this week 1100-1600 (not including Froday or Saturday)

Just a week to go to our Rear Engined Bus Running Day!

Come and help us celebrate 50 years of Leyland Atlantean number 6 along with a supporting cast of visiting "rear engined" buses.

It all starts at 1100 on Sunday 24th May.

If buses are not your thing, we have the Classic Bike Days on June 6th and 7th or the Ipswich Transport & Model Festival on June 20th - a busy month for events at Priory Heath!
