We've got you covered for Halloween plans here at Christchurch Mansion! 🎃

During the day we have a craft event on for the little ones that the family can get involved with.

You can decorate your own Witches Kitchen, where you'll receive your own craft pack to decorate and take home ready for Halloween night!

In the evening we have our adult only Halloween disco taking place from 7pm - 11pm. 🪩

Enjoy a night of hauntingly good dancing, uncanny canapes and a creepy creative quiet zone to relax and unwind.

Fancy dress is encouraged as we will be having a competition for the best dress ghoul or gal! 👻

What's on at the Mansion this October half term! 🎃

We have a jam packed week of spooky activities for the whole family to get involved with, here at Christchurch Mansion.

Our brand new exhibition opens on Saturday 24th October. Constable to Contemporary is running until the 28th February 2027 and kids go FREE!

Don't miss out on our spooky animals on Monday 26th and Friday 30th, where you can expect a selection of creepy crawlies and reptiles. 🐍

Make your very own spooky slime with us on Tuesday 27th, make sure you bring a tub to take your creation home.

On Wednesday 28th we have our popular discovery day, where you can meet specialists in natural history, geology, archaeology and astronomy to discuss your findings! 🔍

For younger visitors, our Terrifying Toddlers sessions offer Halloween-themed free play, crafts and storytelling designed especially for under 5s. 👻

We also have on some more craft activities, including Crafty Witches Kitchen and Constable Compositions throughout the week.

Not forgetting our Adult only Halloween disco on Saturday 31st October, for a night of hauntingly good dancing, uncanny canapes and a creepy creative quiet zone to relax and unwind. 🪩

Moving beyond the public records, this deeply moving and engaging performance uses cutting-edge audio technology and sensitive, site-specific staging to place you as an observer in an intimate world of power, betrayal and quiet resilience.

This is the story of one of history’s most misrepresented queens. This event is free to attend but booking in advance is encouraged. Performances last 55 minutes. Suitable for all ages. 🙌

Introducing Constable to Contemporary, the third and final exhibition of the year-long celebration! 🙌

This exhibition is community based, highlighting the artistic and cultural relevancy of Constable’s art through a variety of contemporary and community responses.

Featuring work produced over the anniversary year with our Constable 250 community partners, this exhibition is a chance to view over 100 works of art responding to the landscape, people and nature. 🌳

Including work from Brave Art Groups, for adults with learning disabilities, it will present a new body of mixed media works inspired by the portraits, clouds and landscapes painted by Constable.

Community Hub Ipswich will showcase a youth led immersive artwork bringing to life recognisable motifs from the landscape surrounding Flatford in projection and paint.

A selection of works by John Constable from our Ipswich collection will be on display, alongside other local artists.
