The Gibberd Garden is an inspirational 9 acre garden with over 80 post-war sculptures and architectural pieces set in a series of enchanting spaces, including formal lawns, ornate terraces, a dramatic mature lime avenue, pools, streams and glades – with fabulous garden views from Sir Frederick Gibberd’s own house (open Sundays only). It has been described by BBC Gardener’s World as “One of the mo

st important post-war gardens in the country….where sculpture and plants complement each other perfectly.”

The Garden is included on the English Heritage Register of Parks & Gardens of Special Interest and is listed Grade II.

We loved meeting so many brilliant Harlow residents at the Harlow Town Show yesterday!

We’re back again today, so if you’re around, come find our lovely volunteers at the culture and community tent to say hello.

We’re so excited to be at Harlow Museum’s Community Fête tomorrow! Stop by our stall to chat, explore what The Gibberd Garden has to offer, learn about volunteering and other ways to support us.

Plus, we’ll be serving up delicious slices of homemade cake alongside tea and coffee and refreshing cold drinks to keep you going.

Need a spot to relax away from the direct sun this weekend? The Gibberd Garden has lots of breezy, shaded pathways and peaceful spots to unwind under the trees. Our Barn Tearoom also offers cold drinks and ice cream.

We are open from 2 to 6pm Wednesdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Please read: A quick safety update for your next visit!

With the prolonged hot, dry weather, we are closely monitoring the trees across the garden. You might not know that hot weather increases the risk of Sudden Branch Drop, where even healthy-looking trees suddenly shed heavy branches due to heat stress.

We are carrying out regular inspections throughout the garden, but to help us keep everyone safe, please keep these quick tips in mind:

• Stay alert when walking under or near large trees.
• Avoid sitting, or lingering directly underneath large branches.
• Stick to the main paths and enjoy our open spaces.
• Follow all safety signage and guidance from our team.
• Report any fallen branches to a member of staff right away.

Grab your picnic blanket, your favourite furry friend and the whole family for The Gibberd Garden’s annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic! 🧸🧺

Join us on Wednesday 12th August from 12pm to 6pm for a magical day out in the garden.

Admission is just £2 per child, which includes entry to the garden plus Simon Bullman and an exciting bug hunt!

You can also try your luck at the Teddy Tombola (£1 per ticket, with a prize every single time!) and get some fantastic face painting (£5 per child). 🐞🎨

No booking required at all, just turn up on the day and join the fun!
