We've loved being at Harlow Town Show today, and guess what? We're doing it all again tomorrow!

We chatted to so many brilliant Harlow residents, young and old, and can't wait to meet more Harlowegians on Sunday.

Our staff and volunteers will be in our, slightly damp, gazebo at the Kids Zone, with lots of objects to handle, sort and wonder over.

Make sure you grab a free retro Harlow Show badge whilst stocks last! We have another x50 to give away on Sunday. We ran out by 2pm on Saturday, so make sure you aren't disappointed and come and find us early doors!

Work to refurbish the roof of the Museum continues, and so does our work to protect the collections housed beneath it.

This means that, unfortunately, the Library & Research Room must temporarily close.

From Thursday 6th August until further notice, our reference material will be unavailable to visitors.

But, we hope that in a few weeks we will be able to give you access to the newspapers once again, whilst repair work carries on.

So, please bear with us; we are doing our very best behind the scenes to keep your visits as uninterrupted as possible!

BTW, do you recognise this view? It's now our Cycle Gallery, looking towards the Library, c.1980 when the original work to convert Mark Hall manor stable block into the Cycle Museum took place.

Subbuteo challenges players to flick the weighted figures with their fingers to pass, tackle and shoot. Did you know the name actually comes from the Latin word for the Hobby Falcon bird of prey?

Come see if you can spot Subbuteo and other nostalgic favorites in our latest display, Puzzles, Pedals and Play! We are open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9:30 to 3:30pm (last entry 3pm).

We are incredibly proud to announce that the Walled Gardens at Harlow Museum have received a seventh consecutive Green Flag Award and our second Green Heritage Site Award for 2026/27.

This achievement, to be recognised as among the best-managed green spaces in the UK, is down to the dedication of our Head Gardener and volunteers, who work rain or shine to keep this historic space beautiful and welcoming for everyone.

Thank you to our amazing team, we hope to see you in the gardens soon! We are open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9:30 to 3:30pm (last entry 3pm).
