'Hamble Point
Oil and acrylic on canvas, 80x60cm, 2026.
Finally finished this very complex double portrait of my son, which I reckon, I began about 5 years ago! Matching the colours and feeling of the double figures; making off the acrylic sections, layering up the acrylic, then adding the various textures of oil.. I gave up, it was too much, I needed a break!
But at last its done!
Funny how in that time, my son has gone from looking like this to being a 14 year old lad who towers above me!
Time, is a funny thing. How lovely i get to record it through art.

'Sunflowers' work in progress video!
It took about a month to paint, just a small canvas, but required so much more fine detail, shading, and layers, than I first anticipated! I really enjoyed putting it together; painting often feels like each stroke of paint is another piece of a puzzle in place.

'Sunflowers'
Oil on canvas, 40x60cm, 2026.
A selfie!
Really extraordinarily happy to be painting again! Its a habit I've managed to get myself back into, thankfully! Just one or 2 hours, most nights, music and painting, a zone of pure joy for me. To go from a black canvas to the picture in my mind, now realised on the canvas.
And how I love sunflowers!
I've grown them for several years now; their happy faces bring joy and excitement to my heart.

Origami Doll Greetings Cards! Otherwise known as paper ningyo, are handmade paper dolls, usually made with patterned Japanese Chiyogami paper which is often decorated with gold.
Here's a recent batch I made. It is such an enjoyable meditative process to put them together, and the final details of adding pressed flowers and glitter, and bows is just too kawaii.
