Clive Meredith is a uk based professional artist working with mixed media,pencil and oils creating nature-themed art for the home.View all my original drawings,paintings and limited edition prints at www.clivemeredithart.weebly.com Based on the south coast of England,Clive Meredith has been working as a professional wildlife artist since 1993,specialising in detailed portrayals of wildlife from around the globe.Clives initial interest in wildlife and the countryside was fostered in his early years,brought up the son of a dairy farmer,and spending hours outside in the Shropshire countryside birdwatching and larking about on the river Severn and local brooks in his hometown of Shrewsbury. Working in both mixed media and oils,observation is vital to Clives working practice.each painting or drawing reveals meticulous attention to detail,achievable only by hours spent in the field observing and photographing subjects in there natural habitat. Aside from wildlife watching and photography in the Uk Clive has travelled extensively in Asia and Africa in search of subjects for his art.As a result he has become renowned for the stunning realism of his images and an incredibly assured ability to inject life and character into his works. In 2010 clive was named Wildlife Artist of the Year by Wildscape magazine after winning the prestigious annual competition with his image 'The Egret Pool' .he has also appeared as a finalist in the DSWF wildlife artist of the year show at The Mall Galleries in London in 2010,2012 and 2013.

Ive made a start on the detailed coat of oils and today ive been working on the dragonflys thorax and wings.

Work in progress
Made a start on the first layer of paint on my Dragonfly painting in the studio today.
Fiddly details require tiny brushes and a great deal of patience.

After a lovely break from the studio i'm now back at work creating some new pieces for waiting galleries.
Here are my first two works in progress on the easel today.
The Dragonfly image will be my largest piece at 11"×14" that ive attempted since my spinal problems started a year ago.Thanks to a new physio regime and occasionally some painkillers ive made good progress and hope to be able to ramp up studio time to produce more works very soon.

Thanks to everyone who purchased one of my hand-embellished bumblebee prints.
This particular edition is now sold out but i hope to be able to create some new limited edition prints soon.
In the meantime i have limited numbers of other prints including the other two bumblebee editions available through my website

WORK IN PROGRESS-Foxgloves and bumblebee

Ive been working on this little 6"×6" painting on and off (mainly off) for a couple of weeks now.
Its in oils on a 24ct gold gilded wood panel and is almost complete with just a second detail coat of oils required on the bumblebee.

Finally got back to the studio and this particular little painting i started an age ago.
All finished now and will be off to the framers soon.
Now ive got to think of a pair to go with it as i always like to create new pieces in pairs.
