The Air Water Land Model Group says Hello Buoys to Jet Age Museum with their large scale radio controlled models this weekend.

Among the ships, hovercraft and trucks are two models of aircraft designed by Anthony Fokker : the buff Eindecker E1 monoplane and the Polish liveried DVII biplane.

The E1 was the first dedicated fighter with machine guns synchronised to fire through the propeller. The development of this interruptor mechanism led to the Fokker Scourge of Allied aircraft in 1915 and construction of pusher propeller designs such as the DH2. Such was the demand for the DH2 that the British Aircraft Manufacturing Company - Airco - approached Cheltenham woodworking firm H.H. Martyn to build components. In turn this led to the formation of what became the Gloster Aircraft Company.

The DVII was the only German aircraft specifically mentioned in the 1918 Armistice agreement as being surrendered to the Allies.
