EXCITING NEWS!
We have some exciting news to share - a £250,000 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund for our Collections and Archives Department. This generous funding will allow the Museum to update its systems and improve public access - for example, family historians seeking to understand their relatives’ wartime experiences in the RAF. Thanks to the NLHF for their support.

NATIONAL VOLUNTEERS WEEK - 5
Our volunteers come to us from a wide range of backgrounds and with a diverse mix of skills. Ben is an autistic young man who, with his 'personal assistant' Dave, used to visit the Museum regularly. He's now a volunteer, tackling a range of jobs around the site. Ben and Dave form part of a great band of volunteers here at the Yorkshire Air Museum. Why not join them? NATIONAL VOLUNTEERS WEEK - 4
Among the many duties carried out by volunteers here at YAM is the care of our gardens and plants. Sylvia has been volunteering in that capacity since 2021 and does a tremendous job making sure the site looks its best. Here she is, flexing her green fingers in the Butterfly Garden. LOOKING FOR A FATHER'S DAY TREAT?
Our annual Cold War Wheels Show is coming up on Sunday 21st of June - Father's Day. A show for cars and bikes from the 1960s, 70s and 80s, against a backdrop of our collection of Cold War aircraft. It's a normal Admissions day, so no special ticket is required and 12 month returns are valid. There's even a display of classic 1960s Minic Motorway and a Scalextric track!

NATIONAL VOLUNTEERS WEEK - 3
Our schools team deliver educational tours and workshops to children from across the region who come to visit us, year-round. Andrew is one of those who help the Museum live up to its ethos to Honour, Educate and Inspire. Here he is in the main T2 hangar with a school party this morning.
