** PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT ** DIFFUSERS
A customer asked me at the weekend which was better for a bedroom: a candle or a diffuser. The answer was easy: a diffuser. When it comes to scenting your home, a diffuser does the hard work for you. It sits quietly in the background, releasing fragrance all day with help from warmth and air circulation. Unlike a candle, you don’t need to be home to use it, and unlike a wax melter, it doesn’t need to be plugged in. You simply come home, open the door and are greeted by the familiar, beautiful scent you chose. Diffusers are especially useful at this time of year, when we can’t freshen rooms by leaving windows open.
I find most diffusers quite dull because they rarely add anything to your décor. They are often tucked away behind something, like an embarrassing little secret. Diffuser? What diffuser? When I redesigned the diffusers in my range, I wanted them to be attractive enough to enhance your home as well as scent it. I added sustainable sola wood flowers to make them prettier, but they also had an unexpected benefit: they made the diffusers more powerful. Once the flowers absorb the oil, they create more fragranced surface area for air to circulate around, which makes the scent stronger. Customers seem to agree, as diffusers are now becoming one of my best-selling items.
So, how do you get the best from your diffuser? Warmth and air circulation are key. Placing it on a windowsill lets the sun warm the oil and can make the scent stronger, although it may also cause it to evaporate more quickly — so I’ll leave that choice to you! For best results, place your diffuser in a warm room where there is plenty of movement. High shelves or corners are less effective because the air doesn’t circulate as well. I know this isn’t always practical if you have young children or pets, so the next best option is to place it near a heat source, such as a radiator.
I hope you’ve found this useful. As the weather turns colder and wetter, choose to scent your home with diffusers instead of wet dog or teenage trainers! And I also do refills! ♥xx
