ABDELRAHMAN ALKAHLOUT
Abdelrahman Alkahlout is a Palestinian photojournalist and documentary visual storyteller from Gaza. His work focuses on the human impact of war, displacement and survival, capturing the voices and experiences of civilians living through one of the most documented and devastating conflicts of our time.
He has covered key historical events, including the Israeli military offensives on Gaza in 2014, 2021, and the devastating war of 2023. Despite being injured six times while reporting—four of them by sniper fire during the Great March of Return (2018–2019) in Nahal Oz and Erez, and the latest in 2023—he remains unwavering in his mission. These injuries were sustained despite wearing full professional press gear, a testament to the risks Palestinian journalists face simply for doing their job.
Beyond the frontlines, Abdelrahman amplifies the voices of the voiceless. He is known for his fierce dedication to ethical storytelling, his refusal to sanitize the brutality of occupation, and his relentless pursuit to show the world what mainstream media often ignores. He believes that the camera is mightier than bullets, and that images can pierce silence more deeply than words ever could and continues to document stories from the frontlines with a commitment to honesty, dignity and human truth.
