We’re adding a special date to our festive calendar this year! The RCA will be open on Monday, 23rd December – a rare opportunity to visit on a Monday – so you can pick up those perfect last-minute Christmas gifts.

Our gallery and shop are filled with unique pieces by talented local artists and crafters, from artwork to handmade items you won’t find anywhere else. Every purchase supports our work as a charity, championing the arts in Wales.

We’re also open on Friday, 20th December and Saturday, 21st December before we take a break for the holidays.

We look forward to welcoming you and helping you find something truly special this Christmas!

Our Story

The Royal Cambrian Academy of Art is a charity whose aim is to create enjoyment of visual art through a lively exhibition and education programme. Constituted in 1881, the Royal Cambrian Academy is a centre for artistic excellence in Wales. It has over 100 artist members and aims to exhibit work by members of the Academy, to promote up and coming artists of quality, to mount historical exhibitions and offer a lively venue for education and community art projects. The Gallery is located in the centre of Conwy just off the High Street behind Plas Mawr. Entry to the gallery is FREE but we are grateful for any donations received.
