Today is your final day for the current displays at Castle Donington Museum! 🏛️🕰️

Each year we choose one or two topics for new exhibitions, illustrating different aspects of our local life and the history of Castle Donington over the centuries - This year visit us to explore two different side to our village, our local Public Houses, and Donington Hall.

Saturday August 29th 2026 we'll be open 10.00am to 3.00pm, then closing for the winter, other than work behind the scenes and some possible special events.

Saturday 29th August is our final day for our current displays at Castle Donington Museum!

Visit us 10am to 3pm on the 29th, and discover the many local village pubs throughout the years (can you recognise the locations today) and find out some of Donington Hall’s many uses, including a dramatic POW escape.

Free entry, donations welcome, Apiary Gate, Castle Donington.

It’s your final few weeks to enjoy our 2026 main displays at Castle Donington Museum, and the regular displays of maps and aerial photos of the village, and archaeological finds.

Dolled up for a night’s tour of Donington’s pubs, and a curry along the way?… not quite, these Edwardian ladies wouldn’t have been out on the prosecco or house red, this is a real wear your best moment!

Taken outside 1 Apiary Gate, which was then the Bell and Crown pub, yet another of the village’s many bygone pubs.

Right now at Castle Donington museum explore two different side to our village, our local Public Houses, and Donington Hall.

You can visit open every Saturday 10.00am to 3.00pm, to the end of August.

A reminder if you’ve got kids to entertain, that Castle Donington Museum is free to enter! We do rely on donations to exist, but that can be any spare pennies you may have, or just say hi and brighten our volunteers’ day 👋

Castle Donington Museum is a little capsule perfect to share local stories, look closer at objects from the past, and see how things have changed or stayed the same to today.

With our family quiz sheet and four talking points, you can find out together about Donington Hall and our Public Houses past and present, plus general village history, beautiful archaeology, and even shoes!

Visit us every Saturday 10am - 3pm, to August 29th.

Did you know Donington Hall was once “kept as a show place to the public”? Can you imagine moving from Scotland to here, to work with the hall’s poultry and dairy? It all comes around, as locally grown and organic is popular again these days!

You have five Saturdays remaining to visit Castle Donington Museum to discover our many many pubs, some of the uses Donington Hall has had, and of course there’s a small cabinet of interesting small archaeological finds, and local maps and photographs to see how the village has changed.

10 to 3 each Saturday, final day August 29th.

Join in the celebrations at the Aeropark ✈️
