Happy Serchiaversary. Five years ago today, we opened the doors to our home and became a gallery. Thank you to each of our artists and friends, you’ve always been what makes this special. We can’t wait to celebrate another five years with all you. x

Introspective 01 by Zeppa Maude. Installed in her home Atelier Montpelier on Picton Street. We intend to make more home exhibitions in homes beyond our own.

One Hundred and Twenty Minutes by Amak Mahmoodian. This photograph and another were two “dreams” made by Amak in this bedroom where I sleep. It’s how we met and will always be a part of my memories of our friendship.

Sun + Shadow by Dori Deng. The first of Dori’s two solo exhibitions at SERCHIA. One for the spring and winter solstice. Named for The Philosophy of an Architect publication by Marcel Breuer, it was a journey of returning featuring new light installations from Dori’s Expansion series.

Plastic Flowers by a solo exhibition by George Maund. Exploring his relationship with the construction and performance of masculinity.

The Natural, Rural, and Remote a solo exhibition by Eva Jonas who returned to do a second residency and her beautiful workshop “How to record a garden”

Eternal Orchard by Pia Paulina Guilmoth.

Other Joys, the inaugural solo exhibition of Alice Poyzer. SERCHIA’s first exhibition with Alice which resulted in the final acquisition made by Martin Parr for Martin Parr Foundation. This exhibition marks the beginning of our representation of Alice Poyzer whose visionary exploration of photography surprises us in the best ways every single day.

As It Was, So It Is, by Yulia Mahr.

Sun + Shadow the second solo exhibition by Dori Deng which marked the winter solstice. Featured artwork ‘Work no. 21’ featuring a 3000mm air-filled sphere, LED neon, and natural rock from the gallery garden. Photography by Ash James.

“Is it all real?” Tumbler browsing, hair shaking, and jewellery-wearing biomorphic sculpture paint the surreality of our current exhibition: Konkursas by Francesca Allen alongside Completedworks.

Journalist Molly Taylor responds to the beauty and fragility and playfully feminine nature of our 40th exhibition now live on the gallery journal.

“British photographer Francesca Allen turns her camera towards Lithuania’s annual longest-hair competition, where ritual, performance, and femininity collide in unexpectedly surreal ways. Konkursas follows girls and women as their meticulously maintained hair is measured, displayed and ceremonially shaken before judges, transforming a beauty pageant into something closer to contemporary folklore. Balancing humour with tenderness, Allen’s photographs explore how hair functions as identity, aspiration, and cultural inheritance, while questioning the expectations projected onto women’s bodies. Konkursas runs 2 May – 6 July 2026 at SERCHIA, Bristol, UK”

B51 The Bubble to End all Bubbles Recycled Glass Vase in Clear by Completedworks

“A glass vase hand blown from broken window and bottle glass melted down and repurposed using old engine as fuel. This is a colourless vase with a beautiful pale blue hue due to the nature of the recycled material. This piece’s sculptural form reflects a conceptual, theme-based approach, which stands in stark contrast to the classical rules of decoration that pervade traditional glass. The flowing contours of the piece reference the way drapery has been used by painters to convey movement since the Renaissance.”
