We had a great meeting with our Essex Youth Service mentor today. He told us about John Cooper Clarke gatecrashing his wedding breakfast recently so we thought we'd share this poem.

John Cooper Clarke, poet and national treasure, recorded this poem in 1982. Most of Clarke’s poetry is rhythmic and can be set to music. It works best as a performance poem, best

Over the last 18 months, Pens and Dragons CIC has grown almost exponentially. The Directors, who are all volunteers, have decided, after careful consideration and lengthy discussion, that the organisation, in its current format, is becoming too unwieldy. We will be concentrating on our core activities going forward, and reducing activities that fall outside our remit of making storytelling inclusive to all.

In addition, we have suffered repeated loss of stock and money over a period of months, which means that we have to improve the security of the building. We will be largely closed for a 4-week period to allow for a stock take, while we establish the full extent of the problem. We will continue activities that would have a negative well-being effect, if we cancelled them.

Lego Challenge Club is back this week (Wednesday 7th October, 4.30-6pm) with an engineering challenge.

We've added all the designs from last week on our website.

One of our rules at Lego Challenge Club is that we can't keep the builds forever. One of our promises is that we'll photograph every build and put them on the website for posterity. Challenge 1 - Make your name in Lego (and free building)
