🔥 Wildfire Awareness Day at The Look Out Discovery Centre 🔥
Today we're delighted to welcome Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service and the Thames Basin Heath Partnership to The Look Out Discovery Centre, Bracknell, as they host a Wildfire Awareness Event.
With warmer, drier weather increasing the risk of wildfires across our heathlands and countryside, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn how we can all help protect our local natural spaces and wildlife.
🌿 Top Tips to Prevent Wildfires:
✅ Never discard cigarette ends on the ground.
✅ Take all litter home, especially glass bottles which can magnify sunlight.
✅ Do not use disposable barbecues or have open fires in the countryside.
✅ Only smoke in designated areas and ensure ci******es are fully extinguished. ✅ Report signs of fire immediately by calling 999.
✅ Follow local guidance and signage when visiting parks, heathlands and woodland areas.
Wildfires can spread incredibly quickly, putting people, wildlife, habitats and property at risk. By taking simple precautions, we can all play our part in keeping our local countryside safe.
