I know it’s only August but come September I will be opening up my books for a very small amount of personalised pet portrait baubles.

In amongst the summer holidays, dogs, packing for holiday, and all the other stuff that life has to offer, I find it important to still be creative. It’s my way of relaxing. I’ve been craving sketch book work but every time I sit down with my sketchbook the fear takes over. Anyone else get this? It’s the myth keeping the perfect sketchbook!!

So for me to just grab the iPad and doodle is the next best thing. This myth of the perfect sketchbook is something I’m working on. But for now here’s something I’ve been working on. It’s a dear friend’s dog called Otis who I used to walk back in the day. Sam posted this photo of Otis sleeping by their front door and I knew I had to draw.

While all the craziness of life house and garden renovation have been all consuming. I have found time to sit and do some sketching. These simple black and while sketches are slightly different to my other portraits I have done.
