Colonel Stephen Hawkins' Regiment of Foote Wecome to Hawkins! Our Regiment prides itself on inclusivity of all members, and continued historical reenactment within The Sealed Knot.

We love:
Festivals, gigs, board games, family activites, camping and getting together “off season” too. Welcome to the official page for Colonel Stephen Hawkins' Regiment of Foote, part of The Sealed Knot re-enactment society. Here you will find information about us as a regiment, who we are and what we do. Along with details of forthcoming events hosted by Hawkins, including our annual muster at Basing House.

Recap on our last event of the year Battles Through History

A nice cameo from the The Sealed Knot Society Official and joining regiments Sir George Lisle's Regiment The Blew Regiment Sergeant Major General Philip Skippon's Regiment of Foote

Small events are often much more interactive, providing a closer look at participants on the battle field.

Looking out for:
Pike
Musket
Drums
Ensign
Camp followers
Cavalry

Living History always provides an insight on how camp followers could set up a kitchen, a surgeon, seamstress and weapons repairs.

During battles in the English Civil War, it was common that families would often come face to face against each other.

Often separated by religious or political views, soldiers could be fighting their brothers, cousins or even their own father!

Women and children would often be left behind, but occasionally “camp followers” would attend the wounded, or even steal their enemies gloves 😳

Taking soldiers belongings was common, such as leather and armour were expensive, many soldiers were not trained or equipped for brutal combat.

See how Ensign Officer kills his own brother, having previously insulted his father ( a Royalist Commanding Officer) as a traitor .

What we did last Bank Holiday weekend…….

Sprinkle a few and a dash of
and we have our new regiment of 2026 Prine Blewkinse ❤️🖤💙🤍

From building a small village in a field, we gathered for fun, sun and a downpour ☔️

Friday night = peak night well nothing changes there. We all set up, and gather in the “beertent” to catch up

Saturday we descend into the local town and do what we do best, visit some pubs. provides an amazing space, kid friendly which is ideal 🙌🏻

Sunday is split between visiting the local tank festival or staying on site. Flying kites 🪁, playing games and enjoying the company.

Then…….. karaoke 🎤
Cheese fest 🧀
Port circle 🍷

Do we share the next XFactor contestants? 🤔

It’s sad but true, our next event at Great Tew has been cancelled 😔

But do we let it get us down!!! NO!

We jump straight into finding something else to do instead ✨ Huzzahhhhh.

Thanks to our quick think CO and 2IC It’s a HAWKINS HOLIDAY ☀️

As a regiment we do far more than reenact 17th century history, we also like:

⛺️ Camping
🪩 Dancing
🎸 Live music
🏰 Sightseeing ( find us a castle )
🎲 Boardgames
🎮 Gaming
🍻 Social gatherings ( may or not be 🎤)
With plenty of other common interests which we enjoy together.

So instead of fighting the good fight ⚔️ we shall enjoy some social time, in field , still have fun 🤩 with out the excessive wool.

Until next time……..🙌🏻
